Simple Past X Used to
Hey folks! When we think about past form we normally think about Simple Past, right? However, there are other verb forms to express past but with a different perspective, that´s the case of Simple Past and Used to.When we use Simple Past, for example in " I danced a lot." we imediatelly think about a single action, so probably the answer will be "When?Yesterday, last week, last Saturday?".Now, it´s different "I used to dance a lot", here we have the idea of a sequence, the sentence means that the person had the habit of dancing in the past.Pay attention to the structure, "...used to dance", the verb remains in the infinitive form.So remember, for past habits, used to!Bye!

My friend Dictionary!
It´s not a big problem consulting the English-Portuguese dictionary sometimes, but it´s a big problem if you make it a habit. In your learning process, it´s extremelly important to build ideas in english, so, avoiding portuguese is totally adivisable. A very good dictionay for begginers is "PASSWORD" that gives this perspective, inducing the reader to analyse first all the definition in english, then giving the translation in portuguese. Try it first, then take an English-English dictionary.Try to connect the word in english with the image or the idea, action, context... When you do it, you improve your hability of thinking in english and the language starts to come naturally when you are thinking or talking and it´s how you achive the goal, fluency!

Take notes!
Hey guys! Existem algumas estratégias que podemos usar para anotar vocabulário ou até mesmo expressões em inglês sem traduzir, isso ajuda na memorização e na construção de um raciocínio em inglês. Por exemplo, para a palavra "heart", pode ser usada a estratégia da picture, fazendo um desenho de um coração na frente da palavra.Outra estratégia usada é a exemplefication, assim, animal=cat, dog, mouse, bird...Existe ainda a Lexical Group onde agrupamos as palavras do mesmo grupo, por exemplo, Greetings:Hi!/Hello!/Good Morning!/...Outra é a Definition, onde escrevemos a definição como no dicionário, por exemplo, Shout= It´s the action of speaking very out loud, especially, when we´re nervous.Também podemos usar Contextualization, aplicando a palavra ou expressão dentro de um contexto, por exemplo, "Amazing" = "I loved the movie ,it was quite amazing!" Sempre que possível, usem as estratégias para anotar vocabulário e mantenha sempre seu Lexical Notebook atualizado ok? See you, bye.
